PDEA, PNP, LGU leads Anti-Illegal Drug War

Misamis Oriental- “The campaigns against Illegal Drug must be a concern of everyone, Government law enforcers are not the only one who are obliged to fight the war but all of us, you and me” PDEA Regional Director Gilberto B. Abanto Jr of Northern Mindanao said during the launching of this years National Drug Prevention Week.

With this years theme: Kilos Mamayan, Sa Droga, Patuloy ang Laban is the battlecry of this never ending campaigns against the proliferation of the illegal drugs and other substances that led to high crime rate, health problems, and other economic sabotage.

The Misamis Oriental Local Government Unit under the leadership of Governor Oscar Moreno calls on every “Misamisnons” to unite and be a team whose teamwork gears towards the solution against illegal drugs.

“Like any team, if there’s teamwork, we will be champions” He said.

In drug enforcement, PDEA, PNP, LGU’s and other sectors are stakeholders into this society to solve and campaign for the eradication of illegal drugs and other substances that makes our community dirty as crimes came and go.

"Championing in the campaigns against this menace, people of all walks of life must be a team member," Governor Moreno stressed. Thus inversely without each other the problem will still remain.

The National Drug Prevention Week (November 14-21, 2009) is celebrated with other activities such as Film Showing and Symposiums on Related Illegal Drug issues, Exhibitions at the Capitol Grounds by the 4thID, Band Concerts from local and government bands, and other activities related to the campaign on anti-Illegal Drug in the province.

Meanwhile, P/SSUPT Alberto Patrimonio of the Misamis Oriental provincial PNP Directorate emphasized that the police is not a superman, they need other stakeholders to campaign and wage war against illegal drug proliferators, both pushers and users, and other who influence the people, especially the youths who are now influence by this corruptors.

“We still have more work to do, not only information drive on illegal drugs that is why we need your support. Drug reduction on demand and supply, judicial actions, and other activities that can stop this abuse in our province are needed.” Patrimonio said.

Meanwhile, the provincial government had campaign for radio plugs and video plugs contest for every Misamisnons to join to boost the campaign against the Illegal Drug trade and use.
