Provincial Capitol, CDO- The weeklong National Drug Prevention Celebration lead by the Peace and Order Council of Misamis oriental in cooperation with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Regional Office 10, and the Philippine National Police, Region 10 succesfully culminated with a concert featuring the SAMAKA Artists and awarding the winners of the Radio and Video Plug Contest focus on this year’s theme: Kilos Pamayanan: Sa Droga, Patuloy ang Laban!
Winning the first prize of Ten Thousand Pesos, Cloyd Winstanley, a resident of Terry Hills, Bulua, CDO and a father of a 3 year old son said that he model his own self as a father conscious of what is happening in his community where in proliferation of the illegal Drug is one of the problem, he cannot wait to see his son growing and hooked to the menace of this society.
“The radio plug that I produce is the kind of responsibility from a parent that never condone with present danger to his child or children, that is why I made it a point that being a concern parent this radio plug will help in the campaign against the proliferation of the dreaded drug and other substances, I don’t want my child to become one of the problem of this society” He said.
Cloyd, is a former call center agent and a video artist focusing on digital films, he is also the 3rd place winner of the Video Plug winning the 5-T cash Prize.
Other winners in the radio plug category were: Venancio Gumanid of MORESCO II in Laguindingan, and run away with 7-T cash prize while, Amelito Labail of
The winner of the video plug who uses the medium of a father hook on drugs and because of his daughter might follow and make him a model decided to leave the addictive substances and change for good.

Meanwhile, Ms. Maricel Rivera of the Provincial Press Bureau said that the board of judges came from the fields of Radio and TV broadcasting industry in the locality and other non government organizations, they were: Frank Mendez of ABC 5, Aping Vergado, a Photo/Journalist, Mayleen Sison of ABS-CBN Northern Mindanao and Ryan Carbon, Local KBP Chapter chair.
The National Drug Prevention Week was celebrated from November 14 to 21, this year.
“All my thanks to PDEA, the PNP, the Provincial Peace and Order Council, and other Stakeholders for the eradication of this menace of our society” thank you for being a team member, cause with teamwork we will be champions in our causes” Governor Oscar Moreno said.
