5th Public Hearing by the Congressional Committee on Health done in NMMC

Cagayan de Oro City- Led by Congressman Arthur Pinggoy of South Cotabato, the 5th Regional Public hearing was done successfully in this part of Mindanao late this week. The public hearing focus on HB 1623, 2078, 238, 65538 and house resolution 157 that focuses on the Rationalizing and Modernization and Improvement of Health Care Delivery system in the country.


With Congressman Rolando Uy of Oro’s 1st District, as the vice committee chair, the said public hearing has to be done to let the people know the new proposals and development of the said bills (two is now with the senate) and its impact to the government program for health.


“yes, the hearing focus also with the BHW (Barangay Health Workers plight)” Said Congressman Uy.


With the problem of the city’s JR Borja City Hospital is now proposed to become a nationalized hospital however, because of politics in the city, said plan was in shamble but, Congressman Uy initiated its pursuing with the help of Congressman Rufus Rodriguez and the whole congress.


Meanwhile, the Northern Mindanao Medical Center is also proposed to become a 300-500 bed capacity hospital, with this Dr. Jose Chan as chief of hospital gave his wholeheartedly thanks and support the two Cagayan de Oro’s congressmen; Congressman Rufus Rodriguez and Congressman Rolando Uy and the rest of the congressional Committee on Health of leading the public hearing to know the real score and to take note that the people of this region needs it.


The said public hearing was also witnessed by other members of the committee, Congressman Philip Pichay , Aurelio Gonzales Jr, Bernardo Pinol, and Zamboanga del Sur’s 1st District Congressman Victor Yu, while City Councilor Dante Pajo and Dr. Antonio Sabal, represented both the city and province respectively.
