Dubbed as a prototype public hospital, the MOPH-Alubijid will rise on a one-hectare land in this municipality and is envisioned to become a secondary-level 25-bed capacity health facility, equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment, vehicular support, cost-saving facilities and to be manned by experienced medical personnel.
Governor Moreno, who was joined in by Vice Governor Norris C. Babiera, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Board members Emmanuel Mugot, Oliver Actub, Col. Santiago Sabal, Philippine Councilors League president Ed Ayunting and Alubijid Mayor Armando M. Elarmo during the ceremonies, assured municipal and barangay officials here that the provincial government will continue to assist and respond to the basic health needs of their constituencies.
The governor reiterated the commitment of his administration to increase the enrolment of indigent residents to the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) to 170,000 from the present 135,000 province-wide.
He acknowledged the continuing support from the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, under the leadership of Vice Governor Babiera, to his administration’s health programs as well as in other responsive programs and projects to the basic needs of provincial residents.
In his project overview, Provincial Health Officer Ignacio B. The hospital structures, he said, were conceptualized as a blend of modern and “Filipinized” designs by architect Jonathan Sogoc.
The other seven MOPHs, which have either undergone or are still undergoing rehabilitation, are in located in Balingasag, Claveria, Gingoog, Manticao, Magsaysay, Naawan, and Talisayan.
