“JUSTICE FOR ALL VICTIMS!”

This photos was send thru an email from a Media Friend on the gruesome Maguindanao Massacre Last Nov. 24, 2009

By Cotabato Press Club

The November 23, 2009 incident in the Municipality of Ampatuan, Province of Maguindanao which at present left 57 dead from the relatives of Buluan Vice Mayor Esmail “Toto” Mangudadatu, civilian supporters, innocent civilians and media practitioners has shocked and rocked not only the people in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) but the national and international community as well.

According to international press the “Maguindanao Massacre” has made the Philippines number 1, especially Mindanao, in the list of the most dangerous places for Journalists around the world.

This is a reality that threatens our identity us a democratic nation, our communities and our children’s future. The cycle of conflict is rooted in continuous unhealthy political practice and violence against civilians.

We are an inter-tribe alliance of indigenous mediators called (Salday sa Genoket / Sowat Tede Megoket) under the Sindaw ko Kalilintad coming from different cultural identities and backgrounds in Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao and Sultan Kudarat who yearn for PEACE in our lands and work for conflict transformation;

We condemn this barbaric “Maguindanao Massacre” as an act which is dehumanizing and against the principles of Islam and Christian faith;

We condemn the killing of women, civilians, and mass media people who like us have families to live for;

We condemn whosoever planned and instigated this and made use of our fellow poor people who served in this heinous crime only to earn something and fight hunger;

We do want the national government to immediately put serious action on this and prevent it from escalating. Create an INDEPENDENT BODY that will investigate without bias and prejudice and subject the perpetuators to the rule of law!

Uphold justice for all victims, execute laws without prejudice and immediately name the criminals behind this barbaric act.

JUSTICE FOR ALL VICTIMS! Justice Delayed, Justice Denied!
