Two dead as Gunmen strike

Pagadian City – City PNP under the supervision of Chief Of Police P/CI Michael Palermo is now on full investigation on a crime that that transpired yesterday (June 9, 2009) wherein a former city government employee and a fireman was brutally killed by suspected five to six masked gunmen inside a makeshift dwelling inside of the compound owned by one of the victim in Purok Pagatpat, Santa Lucia District this city.


In the police report disclosed that FO1 Myles Cirunay y Lacharon, 36 years old, married and a member of the City BFP Fire Department and a former city government employee named Pedrito Escario jr. y Cogonon, 52 years old, were killed by cal.45 bullets inside a makeshift dwelling found at the back of the latter’s house.


Further PNP Investigators supervised by the City Chief of Police said that the duo were seen lying in cold blood lifeless after 5 -6 suspects pump their bodies with cal. 45 pistols as empty shells were found near their bodies.


Accordingly, the suspects as told by witnesses arrive in three motorcycles with their faces covered with handkerchiefs rushed to the said dwelling and pump bullets to the victims that cause their instantaneous deaths. Four (4) empty shells and three (3) slug of Cal. 45’s were recovered in the crime scene.


“We are fully investigating the crime” COP P/Chief Inspector Michael Palermo said.


PNP report further disclosed that , the victims were found dead in the dwelling were voluminous aluminum foils and empty plastic sachets of suspected drugs, methamphetamine Hydrochloride or otherwise known as “Shabu” , some used lighters and other drug sniffing paraphernalia’s were also found.


“Our investigators suspects that the victims were in an allege drug den and came out of our investigations that, this is a drug related case” P/CI Palermo added.


Meanwhile, City BFP Fire Marshall, Fire Inspector Christopher Morales confirmed that the fireman found dead was one of his men, and now, fully coordinating with the city police for an investigation.
