Search for Pagadian’s Five Prettiest is on.

Pagadian City – Amidst hectic preparation and the idea of scrapping the search for Pagadian’s Five Prettiest due to some problems, City Tourism Office with the blessings from the executive department pushes thru its project as one of the main activity of the 40^th year celebration of Araw ng Pagadian this coming June 11-21, 2009.

“With the mayor’s go signal, we are pushing thru the search for the Pagadian’s Five Prettiest this 40^th year Araw ng Pagadian with some changes.” City Tourism Officer Joy Barrios said.

It may be recalled that during the pre-preparation planning of activities, there were thoughts of scrapping the said activity due to some financial and physical problems especially that, recently was the burning of the city gymnasium, where major activities are usually done.

However, with some considerations, the Search for the Pagadian’s Five Prettiest will push through with some changes, accordingly from the planners.

Twelve(12) candidates vying for the title has cut into ten, when two of the candidates decided to withdraw from the search, but with the insertion of another candidate, the search has now an eleven pretty ladies from Pagadian that will join the search.

The eleven are:

18 years old Mariel P. Marquez of Brgy. Dumagoc,

17 years old Anielyn C.

Solosod of Sto. Niño,

17 years old Jackielyn A.

Nacalaban of Lumbia,

17 years old Janhel Rose S.Labayo of Brgy.Sto.Niño,

21years old Anjelyn

D.Monievaof Kawit,

20 years old Maristell C. Ginco of Banale,

16 years old Jessa Rose

E.Julom of Balangasan,

17 years old Jhunavel Azur of Tuburan,

and candidates

Ms. Labiaga, , and Ms.Rusio all of Pagadian City.

The two other candidates who later back-out were named Ms. Herrera and Ms. Verano. Said search will commence on June 19, 2009.

This year’s theme of the 40^th year Araw ng Pagadian, “Pagadian: Kakugi Padayon Aron ang Dakbayan Magmalambuon”, connotes continuous changes and development of the city and its people.
