HR Community to investigate MILF violations

Cagayan de Oro City – MILF violations against human rights will be investigated by HR Inter

national community together with its local counterparts.

This was confirmed and said by MILF Spokesperson Eid Kabalu in an interview with local media during his stint with the M4M 1st Mindanao leaders congress held at Dynasty Court Hotel in this city.


“ We are signatory to the Geneva Convention, and we are welcoming the Human Rights community local and international to conduct investigation on human rights violations, especially the use of land mines” Kabalu said.


However ,Kabalu denies MILF participations in the recent bombings that rocks, Cotabato, General Santos, and Iligan cities were civilians killed and wounded. “until now the bombings, wala pang na-identify ang ating PNP, supposed to be the PNP has a mandate to investigate this cases, unfortunately , hanggang ngayon wala pa silang pinapalabas na statement , conclusive ‘ika nga that would identify the real perpetrators.”


The MILF will be putting up an independent investigative body, “if they want international members, why not? As far as we are concerned, we have nothing to hide, everything is open to us. He said.


MILF Spokesman Ed Kabalu attended as guest resource person during the 1st Mindanao Leaders Congress hosted by the Mindanaoans for Mindanao Movement (M4M) held in Cagayan de Oro’s Dynasty Court Hotel.


In his stint Kabalu reiterated that achieving peace in Mindanao should be participated by all sectors. And they join to its campaign.


“Hindi kayo Nagiisa”(in tagalog ) Kabalu said.


In his message towards the organizers of the congress, Kabalu said that the MILF is pushing for the resumption of the peace talks that bogs down after the controversial MOA-AD as an ingredient to the agreement, was questioned and declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court.


“The resumption of the peace talks is very essential in achieving peace in Mindanao, we in the MILF, in time and time again, denounces violation as a means to achieve peace, (yang commitment n’yn ay nanatili) our commitment to resolve this problem is thru peaceful negotiations.” He emphasized in his message.
