“If others can, why can’t we”- Says Zambo Sur PNP Ladies

Camp Abelon, Pagadian City – The PNP Ladies Club had been strengthening their ranks as Regional President Ma. Carla Ochotorena, wife of Zambo Sur Provincial Director P/SSUPT Ramon M. Ochotorena, started to create the PNP Ladies clubs all over the province.


As she strengthen the Officers Club in Camp Abelon, Prof. Ochotorena also strengthen the other PNP units inside the PNP Camp and along her effort and support from the wives of police officers they started to establish the towns PNP ladies club.


“We love our husband, we should help them” she said.


The PNP Ladies club was reengineered by the national directorate under Mrs Cynthia Versoza, the PNP National Director General Jesus Versoza. When the latter visited Mindanao she emphasized that establishing and creating the wives of every police officer or enlisted personnel’s, this will help and support their work and established a good family relation within their families.


“We are the only wives of our husband policemen, and we are here to support them” Mrs. Versoza once told the PNP ladies during her visit in Zamboanga Del Sur.


Late this week, three other town PNP ladies club were created, Guipos, Margosatubig, and San Pablo municipalities. “If others can, why can’t we” they said. The PNP Ladies Club is now moving as it grows to more ladies club that will surely support their husband policemen in the province of Zamboanga del Sur.


Meanwhile, Town executives had showed their support by giving them assistance and giving them moral and financial support as the towns executives wives are also involve as they are chosen to become advisers of the club.


“This is a challenge that you will not only be with your circle but to go beyond to community service”, Mayor George Menor of Margosatubig said.


Family problems solutions, socio-civic involvement, livelihood and entrepreneurial objectives and to become partner in progress as it will improve the quality of life for every police families is the mean objective why PNP ladies clubs are organized.


“We are here not to become the problem of our husbands, but to ensure that with our presence and involvement, not necessarily mingling with our husband works, our group is a support group because we want to be respected as we respect other stakeholders to achieve peace and development in our own communities” Professor Ochotorena added.


In the same line, Provincial Director P/SSUPT Ochotorena who fully supports his wife in this endeavor, not because she is the region’s PNP Ladies Club President, he PNP ladies Club will be a big help in their work as peace officers. As the saying goes “peace begins at home”.


“With our wives support, they always of assistance to my men and the whole provincial police command.” he said.
