Gatub Lakewood, ZDS – A truck driver, his truck man and an aide were found dead as their bodies suffered major injuries and broken limbs and bones while their cargoes scattered all over the accident area.
Last March 30, 2009, a motor vehicle accident happened in Sitio Mainit, Barangay Gatub, Lakewood town was reported to the police by residents who witness the accident when a red colored Isuzu-Elf cargo truck loaded with sacks of rice and rice brands falls into a ravine.
In the Lakewood PNP MPS Report received at PNP-PPO Camp Abelon Operations Section disclosed that, the truck was driven by Narciso Mananaong Y Lanzon of legal age and a resident of 3rd Street, San Roque, Zamboanga City with drivers license number JO4-02-090929 suffered a mechanical trouble and falls into a deep ravine along the National Highway at the said town going for Zamboanga City.
The said cargo truck was registered to a certain Billy Oranda of Dumingag, ZDS with LTO Registry No. 677394-5 and fully loaded with three hundred eighty (380) sacks of rice grits and twenty (20) sacks of rice brands.
While the driver’s companion, his truckman and an aide were identified as, Edwin Daguman, 23 years old and a resident of Jimenez, Mis Occ and Benjie Famor, 22 years old and a resident of Balucot, Tambulig, ZDS, the three were found dead on the spot because of fatal injuries that resulted to their untimely death.
The Lakewood PNP is now investigating the accident while the remains of the three fatalities were given assistance to bring their bodies’ home.
