LTO 10 to launch R.A. 9485

Cagayan de City – Regional Director Porcawa Dia of the Land Transportation Regional Office, Region 10 announced that the regional office will launch the campaign on Anti-Red Tape Law or R.A. 9485.

“This campaign is initiated by the government to all sectors as mandated in Republic Act 9845 or the Anti Red-Tape Law” He said

LTO 10 as one of the best regional office set to launch it on September 8 this year to become the first regional office on Northern Mindanao to implement the anti red tape law.

R.A. 9845 or the Anti Red Tape Law focuses on the campaign against government office who are excessive needs especially on paper works, like transaction of taxes, business permits, and other paper works by the public in an government office.

“Matagal na itong problema lalu na kung mayroon kang i-follow-up” (this has been a problem since time immemorial especially when the public transact business with government offices) Regional Director Dia said.

R.A. 9845 will guard the public against government employees who has excessive asking from their client and even payments just to be approved or otherwise. This campaign against red tapes is for all sectors to comply with what is mandated by the law.

Meanwhile, Dia also said that with R.A. 3146 or the Traffic code of the Philippines which is his office is a lead agency, LTO 10 will be strict as instructed by the President herself Gloria Macapagal Arroyo who instructed DOTC hierarchy to be strict on the implementation of R.A. 3146.

“We are strengthening our campaign especially on erring drivers because of their abuses, that causes major accidents and ultimately passengers death or serious injuries, one reason of this , drivers usually don’t consider speed limits and even race for passengers in order to have more commission or compensation.” Dia added.

LTO 10 will constantly add road safety inspection, especially on drivers attitudes in driving their vehicles.

“We receive reports that there are driver who turn into drugs just to keep awake while driving but they over speed.” Dia further said.
