With this year’s theme, “Bayanihan ng Pulis at Mamayan Tungo sa Kapayapaan at Kaayusan”of the Philippine National Police Community Relation Month.
“It is the community is our utmost concern” says Police Provincial Director Ramon M. Ochotorena had emphasized.
Community Relation is strengthen with program and plans by the national police force to showcase the effort of every police in their trust to uphold peace and order and public safety.
A touch base to forward its integrated transformation program not only in the echelon of the PNP but to the community as well.
“With this program, we are here not only to protect the people, but to give them information that their police force is with them” Ochotorena added.
People trust with the police force is now the backbone of every police man in the street as it moves to fulfill his or her mission.
Mamang Pulis and Aleng Pulis is the former PNP chief P/DG Avelino Razon campaign and initiated in order to achieve the good working relation of the police to the community.
“We may recall that, in the 50’s and the 60’s, a policeman in the street with his only “batuta” the community respects him and even approached him to solve any problem of the society That’s why the former PNP Chief use this as a campaign for us to implement. He said.
This month, the Zamboanga Del Sur PNP command thru its Police Community Relation Unit has programmed activities, like Essay Writing Contest to High School Students to implant in their minds what the police now are doing thru its transformation program.
Meanwhile, City Police Chief Michael Palermo is continuing its “Ugnayan sa Barangay” program to every Barangay of Pagadian to inform and educate, Barangay officials, tanods, lupon member, and other stakeholders to achieve peace and order.
“We are now forming Barangay Peace Keeping Action Teams (BPKAT’s) to help and support us, because “to solve crime is everybody’s business”. P/CI Palermo said.
BPKATS as crime watch is an another LOI-Bayanihan directive of the national police, said PO2 Elvie Maglasang Pagadian City PCR team Leader said.
