V.Sagun, ZDS – The provincial PNP directorship under Police Senior Superintendent Ramon Martinez Ochotorena is now directing full investigation on a recent killing wherein two dead bodies were found slumped in a pumboat without its engine and docked in a shoreline in Purok Mindahila, Barangay Biu-os, Vencinzo Sagun municipality this week.
In a report received by the V Sagun PNP Station thru a text message from a Barangay Kagawad named as Ramil Tungal immediately responded to investigate.
Accordingly, Kagawad Tungal received information of a found pumpboat from his Barangay tanod Roseller Matt floating and docked in their shoreline with two dead bodies later identified as Junjun Kailan and Sansan Labit both of legal age and fisherman and their pumpboat engine gone. The ivory colored pumpboat is with blue letterings along the side of the pumpboat and read as “Pitogo-ZDS, DM VIII 08-204, Ruth Mar “Banbanan 1809 PAKISAMA”.
The victims bore gunshot wounds in their heads.
In the initial PNP investigation, Operatives suspected that the two bodies found were victims of sea piracy as their pumpboat engine were not found. This incident prompted the Provincial Command to fully investigate the killings and directed the Vencinzo Sagun Police Chief to have a full investigation on the case.
The provincial command chaired the Fishery Law Enforcement Team (FLET) of the province of Zamboanga Del Sur and one of their campaigns is against sea piracy along the coastline of Zamboanga Del Sur.
FLET was created to implement the BFAR-Fishery Law against illegal fishing activity, such dynamite- blast fishing, marine resources protection on the seawaters of Zamboanga del Sur, and sea piracy in compliment with the Provincial Peace and Order Council and funded thru Eco Governance.
