Pagadian City – Zamboanga del Sur Division Superintendent Vizminda Serrato of the Department of Education recently told this outfit that they go for the DepED Random Drug Testing as it will open the next school year 2009-2010.
“We go for it” she says.
The Random Drug Testing to be adopted by the Department is a vital step to protect students from dangerous drugs and to provide them (victims) with assistance to stop them from further use.
“It should be viewed as a purely health issue designed to stop students from falling into the trap of substance abuse” Said ZSNHS Principal Roberto Bibanco.
“Random Drug Testing will also be helping us a lot and support us in eradicating drug abuse in our schools”, Div Supt Serrato added.
Lately, the government’s campaign against drug abuse in the schools thru the random drug testing met negative reaction especially with the human rights group.
However, Educators said that this will be resolve if the schools will be clean from drug abuse and other substance which is now a problem of every school administrator.
