Barangay Chairman Shot, suspect dressed as a Gay

Pagadian City – After attending a relief operation by Congressman Victor J Yu, of this province’s 1st District in his Barangay which suffered from a fire were 137 families homeless, Barangay Chairman Ronald “Toto” Navarro was shot by a lone gunman in a woman dress.


In the morning of February 28, 2009, Congressman Victor J Yu, Congressman of the province 1st District came and distributed cash assistance to the fire victims of Barangay Santiago with Chairman Ronald Navarro and his Barangay officials, Barangay tanods, and other visiting guest to include the local media who covered the congressman’s relief assistance.


After the cash assistance, the congressman left while Barangay Chairman Navarro was interviewed by the local media, and after thirty minutes the media left the area.


Navarro, together with some victims and his Barangay tanods was preparing to leave for home shots were fired from nowhere and people scampered for safety.


Witnesses disclosed that a 5”7”, fair complexion man, wearing a sleeveless shirt, short pants, bringing along a shoulder bag and a headband in his head and look like a gay with a caliber .45 pump bullets to the Barangay chairman hitting him in the body and legs and one of his tanods was also shot.


In the Police Investigation, disclosed that, the suspect fled on foot as he shot it out with the other tanods however escaped.


Chairman Navarro was brought immediately to the Pagadian City Medical Center with four (4) gunshot wounds and his tanod known as Concordio Natingga Y Lozano, 32 years old, married a resident of Barangay Santiago with a lone gunshot wound in his stomach. However they were pronounced safe by attending physicians.


Meanwhile, P/CINSP Parson Asadil who led the police investigation said that they are now fully investigating the case and finding out possible angles of what are the motives of the crime.
