Task Force DRUGA, PNP-PAIDSOTF, 9O5TH PMG, CITY PNP FINEST’S NO LET UP OPERATION

Pagadian City – Keeping the children away from drugs and other illegal substance is not a cry in the wilderness anymore as Task Force Druga of the Provincial Government, the PNP–PAIDSOTF, the 905TH Provincial Mobile Group, the Pagadian PNP Finest’s as well as other law enforcement and local government officials is strongly implementing DILG Memo Circular 2009-09 and campaign pursuant to Republic Act 9165 or otherwise known as the Dangerous Drugs Act.


This week, 905th Provincial Mobile Group under its leadership led by P/CI Alikhan Yusop, Group Director in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, apprehended a certain Faisal Abas y Sissay, 33 Years Old, a resident of Kalye 45, Leon Kilat, Barangay Santiago this city.


With a buy bust operations conducted, suspect was collared red handedly and now faces the strong implementation of the law, R.A. 9165 with an inquest case IX-05-INQ09E-00089 as of May 8 2009.


As the operation move on in the afternoon, an active member of the 15th DRC of the 1st Infantry Division, Philippine Army based in the division’s 102nd Brigade in Sanito ,Ipil was caught along with three other suspects in a joint drug buy bust operation conducted by the PNP-PAIDSOTF (Provincial Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operations Task Force) created to clean and strongly campaign for the eradication of the drug menace in Zamboanga del Sur, PDEA and the 905th Provincial Mobile Group.


Said operations, collared three suspects namely: Razol Ubpon Parte, 34 years old a farmer /resident of Purok Maliwanag, Barangay Dalapang, Labangan town , Abdullah Maruhom y Parte, 36 years old, farmer/Resident and Dato Maulana y Parte 34 years old of the same place.


Said operations recovered two big sachet of suspected “shabu” with an estimated weight of 11 grams and eleven (11) pieces of small sachet amounted to more or less 85-thousand pesos. The joint team also confiscates the issued firearms of Jaafar Ekong y Daem, 42 years old and a resident of Jolo, Sulu, an M-16 Armalite Rifle with serial number 4523191, one camouflage magazine pouch with two (2) long magazine with 28 rounds of ammunition, four (4) elongated magazines with 30 rounds of M-16 ammos and four (4) short magazines with 18 rounds each.


With the firearms, suspected crystalline substances in plastic heat sealed sachets and drug paraphernalia’s were confiscated from the suspects possession and now used as evidence against the suspects in filing a case to the prosecutor’s office pursuant to Republic Act 9165 or otherwise known Dangerous Drug Act as they are temporarily detained at Camp Abelon Lock Up cell for proper disposition and investigation.


PNP-PAIDSOTF is headed by P/INSP Rommel Gabriel Etbew, while PCI Alikhan Yusop heads the 905th PMG and IO Rommel Torres is with the PDEA Region 9.


It may be recalled that late this week the team apprehended and netted illegal drugs and other substance worth 600 thousand pesos in a suspected drug lord dwelling.


Meantime, in the city PNP campaign on dangerous drugs, The City Police headed by P/CI Michael Palermo apprehended a laborer suspected of Drug Street selling and confiscated from his possession fifteen (15) small plastic heat sealed sachet of the suspected drugs.


The suspect was identified as a certain Rico Lopez y Ferrarin, 30 years old, married and a laborer at the Integrated Bus Terminal. In an interview, the suspect did not resisted arrest and when ask, He said” some drivers of buses also use the dangerous drugs”.

Search for Outstanding Employers, Employees in the Private Sector is on

Pagadian City – In an effort to recognize outstanding companies and workers in Region 9 who play active roles in boosting the region’s economy , the Rotary Club Club of Zamboanga City (Mother club) and the Tripartite Industrial Peace Councils (TIPCs) have launched the search for the Outstanding Employers & Employees in the private sector in Zamboanga Peninsula.


DOLE Provincial Director Virginia L. Bonbon said, the DOLE in partnership with the Rotary Club and TIPC have launched the special project, which aims to recognize outstanding companies and workers in Western Mindanao.


She further said, the project is geared to promote strong employee’s morale, boost efficiency, improve productivity and encourage social responsibility and accountability as well as maintain industrial peace and elevate the competitiveness of the region.


The search is open to all organized and non-organized companies/private establishments duly registered under Philippine Laws and all Filipino citizens and regular rank and file employees of companies in the Zampen region.


Accordingly, the search was officially launched on December 8, 2008 during the DOLE's 75th Anniversary Celebration in Zamboanga City and it is extended in all cities and provinces in the region.


“This is the first time that the search is being conducted in the region, only during the administration of Director Ponciano Ligutom,” Bonbon declared, adding that this will “boost the productivity and efficiency of the employers and employees.”


It was learned that there will be one winner for outstanding employer and employee category that includes large, medium, small and micro enterprises.


Bonbon said application forms have already been distributed in all establishments and workers in the city, and she is hoping that many would join the search.


Deadline of submission of entries will be not later than May 15.


Winners will receive plaques of excellence, certificates of special recognition and cash prizes.


Awarding ceremony will be done during the culmination of Labor Month celebration on May 29 in Zamboanga City.

Policeman’s wives celebrates 1st Provincial Assembly

Pagadian City Zamboanga del Sur – With the initiative and talent of every policeman wives in the province of Zamboanga del Sur thru its commitment to help their husband police officers and non-officers celebrated its 1st General Assembly harmonious and successful.


After three months or more on the campaign by the regional president of the Police Ladies Club (PRO 9) to establish and revigorate the attendance of every police wives into a strong and destined PNP Ladies’ Club in every town of Zamboanga del Sur, Professor Ma. Carla Ochotorena has to go on her own way with the support of her husband, Provincial Director P/SSUPT Ramon Martinez Ochotorena, DSC and the nation only police director general’s wife Mrs. Cynthia Versoza harvested its fruits.


Last May 11, two day after the world celebration of Mother’s Day, 26 Municipal PNP Ladies Club to include the Provincial Command and its two operation units, the 905th and the 906th PMG Ladies Club gathered together in Camp Abelon this city.


“Times had change, we are no longer the women of the past, when our place is just the home nor should we be influenced by corrupt ideas and practices, where women are considered as commodities, playthings or sex objects. Although times had change yet there are still so many and so much left to work for.


How many battered wives are there? Martyrs in our homes?, Victims of paternalistic acts of husbands?, This is the challenge of the times, to be able to put police wives in her right place in the home and in society with creative powers and equal rights. Let us take the challenge of our times, as we face these global, socio economic crises. Let us be active partners of our husbands in earning a living not only active in spending but more productive and hardworking.


Let us continue to harness our positive and bright ideas towards life, as we are great molders of our families, let us be good models, teaching our children proper values, so we could contribute to the development and progress of our and each community.


The task is to empower ourselves, to empower all PNP wives, to be active partners in development instead as passive onlookers, This is a big challenge” Mrs. Ma. Nelly F. Galano said.


Mrs. Galano is the President of the PNCO’s Ladies Club of the provincial command and wife of APDA P/SUPT George C. Galano, together with Regional Adviser and President Professor Ma. Carla Ochotorena and this year’s nominee for the Nations Ten Outstanding Policewoman of the Year, P/CI Tessie Paclibar, ZDS-PNPPCR Chief started the day with a motorcade along the city streets and ended with the 1st General Assembly program and viewing of “One town, One Product” showcase of indigenous materials and sources to enhance the policeman’s wives socio economic condition thru livelihood programs and projects.



Of which, as an income generating contest, the PNP Provincial Command give away gifts and prices as a starting capitalization of their livelihood projects to the winners; 1st prize goes to the 905th PMG Ladies Club winning the 10,000 prize, 2nd place was received by the Aurora PNP Ladies Club the amount of 5,000 and the 3rd place goes to Mahayag PNP Ladies Club in the amount of 2,500 in cash.


With its theme, “PNP Ladies Club getting together for family empowerment and sustainable Income Generating Activities” the said general assembly did not end without a fellowship, an evening affair attended by Governor Aurora Enerio Cerilles, Municipal mayors and their wives as advisers, Local Media, Their own Families, and other guests that ended in the wee hours of the morning happy and no regret as the policeman’s wives shows their night not only as empowered women but talented dancers and singers, artists in their own ways.


“You are a big family of peace defenders and makers, this evening affair only shows the as an empowered women you can do it” Governor Cerilles said.


In the talent competition dubbed as “The Policemen’s Wives Got Talent” board of judges led by Executive Assistant Tyronne Singgo adjudged Aurora PNP Ladies Club “casino royale” number got the 1st place and run away with 10,000 cash prize and a score of 94.5 percent.


Meanwhile, 2nd placer 905th PMG Ladies Club dance drama presentation got 92.5 percent as their rival Pagadian City PNP Ladies Club who tied but a tiebreaker was made by the board of judges and made its final decision as 3rd place goes to the city’s finest, both club went home with 5,000 and 2,500 cash prizes respectively.

“We are winning the streets”- COP Palermo Says

Pagadian City – After a breakthrough in their fight against drug trafficking in this southern city, scarcity of the dangerous drugs called “shabu” is now felt.


“We are winning the streets now” says COP Police Chief Inspector Michael Palermo in a recent interview with the media.


PCI Palermo sighted that with the effort and support from local executives both of the province and the city, the PNP campaign against drug traffickers is gaining grounds.


“With the recent incidents involving drug trafficking in the city and our no let up operation, plus with the increase of its price from a measly 100 pesos to 500 a sachet, “shabu” is now hard to find by users.” He said.


It may be recalled that with the Provincial Government effort to go against drug trafficking in the province once and for all, this made the police stronger as they see it as a full support for them.


Task Force Druga of the Cerilles Administration and the creation of the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operations Task Force (PAIDSOTF) of the PNP Provincial Command, no let up operations against the illegal drugs traffickers are now on the run.


Late this week, PAIDSOTF nets 600-T worth of illegal substances and paraphernalia’s from suspected drug traffickers and full scale investigation is on process.


PAIDSOTF when created by the PNP Command other law enforcement units are now getting involve in the campaign with the support of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) based in the province.


As of this report, PDEA, PNP-PAIDSOTF, City Police Force, Provincial Government TF “Druga” and other units are planning out operations to further the campaign down to the Barangay of Zamboanga del Sur.


With the DILG Memorandum Circular 2009-09 to all local executives down to the Barangay level adds weight in the local campaign against the illegal drugs and other substances.


“That is why we are asking the 54 Barangay chairman in Pagadian to help us thru their reports and to implement the DILG memorandum Circular in their undertakings.” COP Palermo added.
